‘Incredible’ Man City verdict issued by pundit after Rodri reveal

Paul Robinson has hailed Man City midfielder Rodri as “one of the most underrated” players in the Premier League.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one heaped praise on the “incredible” 26-year-old for his classy performance against West Ham on Sunday.

Rodri starred for the Premier League champions in a 2-0 win at the London Stadium.

As revealed by Squawka (7 August), the centre-midfielder boasted 94 per cent pass accuracy, seven duels won and three accurate long balls over the 90 minutes.

Only Joao Cancelo complete more passes than Rodri against the Hammers.

When asked if Rodri is the unsung hero of Pep Guardiola’s side, Robinson told Football Insider: “Rodri is the lynchpin.

“He is the one who you want in that holding midfield position.

“He is an absolute machine and is just so graceful in the way he goes about things. For me, he has got absolute everything you would want as a holding midfielder.

“I love watching him. He is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. I think he is one of the best. I rate him that highly. He is incredible.”
