With the Magpies battling relegation in the Premier League, Steve McClaren turned to Ivory Coast international Doumbia to help fire the club to safety, having proven himself for CSKA Moscow on another loan deal.
However, it could not have gone much worse.
With just three appearances, all from the substitutes’ bench, the pacey front man failed to show any sort of cutting edge, and his time on Tyneside ended with the ignominy of relegation.
Supposed to be a saviour, he was a total failure, hence his high/low position on the list.
