Insider details major Rangers update on man tipped to succeed Murty
Former Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer is not one of the main men being considered by Rangers to succeed Graeme Murty in the Ibrox hotseat, according to a reliable insider.
Rangers insider Four Lads Had a Dream, an increasingly reliable source of news emanating from Govan, claimed on their Twitter account on Thursday that contrary to certain rumours, de Boer has not been contacted to be the next Light Blues manager.
It is understood that the 47-year-old Dutchman is not currently on the board’s shortlist to replace Murty after chairman Dave King hinted that there will be a change in management at the end of the season.
BetVictor opened the market on who will be in charge of Rangers for the first game of next season earlier this week and former Ajax and Inter Milan manager de Boer was instantly installed as the 2/1 favourite.
De Boer is currently out of work having been sacked by Crystal Palace just four games into the Premier League season after losing all four games without scoring a goal.
Football Insider verdict
Rangers fans should be able to breathe a sigh of relief after this major update because de Boer’s last two spells in management have been disastrous. He will probably go down as the worst Premier League manager ever after his abysmal start at Selhurst Park and his stint at Inter Milan was not that great either. It’s very early to suggest who will be in charge at Ibrox next season and de Boer may just be linked with returning to Ibrox just because he was once a player there and is currently unattached. King and his colleagues has a lot of work to do over the coming weeks.
In other Rangers news, the Gers will be waving goodbye to this fan favourite in the summer after Dave King dropped a huge hint.
