Insider issues bold Tottenham prediction as Chelsea suffer ‘huge blow’ today
Chelsea are under “big pressure” ahead of their League Cup clash against Tottenham on Wednesday (5 January).
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham travel to Chelsea on Wednesday looking for a positive result in the first leg of their semi-final clash.

However, the Blues will be without their star keeper Edouard Mendy after he left to represent Senegal at this month’s Africa Cup of Nations.
This, coupled with key players’ contracts expiring in the summer and the ongoing issues with Romelu Lukaku, Wenham insists Spurs have an advantage.
“Going to Stamford Bridge is never easy,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I would take a draw in this first leg all day long. There do seem to be issues at Chelsea.
“You have Mendy going away at the AFCON today, which is a huge blow for them. He was brilliant against Liverpool and showed what a good signing he has been.
“Rudiger and Christensen haven’t committed to the club which creates all kinds of uncertainty.
“You also have the Lukaku situation which isn’t helping anyone. All of that just feeds into the big pressure Chelsea are under.
“Then you add in Antonio Conte returning to Chelsea as Tottenham manager, it’s going to be a great game.
“The atmosphere will be red-hot but I do think Chelsea are big under pressure.”

On 31 December, Sky aired an interview with Lukaku, 28, recorded earlier in December, where he admitted he was “not happy” with his situation at Chelsea.
As a result, he was not included in the squad that drew 2-2 with Liverpool on Sunday (2 January).
