Insider: Lo Celso to pave way for new Tottenham signing as part of ‘creative’ January swap deal
Giovanni Lo Celso could still leave Tottenham this month despite making an appearance against Watford on New Year’s Day.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Lo Celso, 25, made his first Premier League appearance since 7 November when he came on with seven minutes to go against the Hornets.

Spurs won the game with a last-gasp header but Lo Celso was not involved in the goal.
The player only has two league starts to his name this season and Wenham expects him to leave in January despite his cameo.
“Conte could have gone with Lo Celso, Alli or Ndombele and he went with Lo Celso,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It was interesting to see he went for the one he hasn’t used yet.
“He gave him some sort of opportunity which is good squad management if nothing else.
“I would be very happy to move him on during January. I would even be happy if we didn’t replace him.
“He and some other players just aren’t offering anything, so if we lose them we aren’t actually losing anything.
“All Lo Celso is doing is picking up a salary and taking up a foreign player spot.
“Conte hasn’t said anything about Lo Celso that’s positive so far and he didn’t do anything during that short cameo.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was used in a creative swap deal this month.
“Whether that be on loan or on a permanent deal, I think his form for Argentina could secure him a move.”
