Insider: Tottenham to ‘benefit massively’ after early Man United team news

Tottenham will “benefit massively” from Paul Pogba’s absence when they take on Man United on Saturday.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Pogba, 28, saw red in Sunday’s 5-0 loss to Liverpool for a two-footed lunge on Naby Keita.

Man United

The Frenchman was slammed by fans and pundits after being sent off just 15 minutes after coming on at halftime.

This rules him out of Saturday’s trip to North London.

Wenham admits he his delighted Pogba will miss the game after his impressive performances against the club in recent years.

“We are going to benefit massively from Pogba being out,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“People have their opinions on him but here are the facts. In his last two games against us at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he has been influential.

“In one he came off the bench and got Man United a 1-1 draw and in the other, he set up two of their three goals.

“For me, Pogba is a very good player and I’m glad he won’t be available when we play them.

“It will give our midfield a chance to breathe and control the game.

“Fingers crossed their defence is as bad as it was against Liverpool.”

Tottenham
