Instant Cristhian Mosquera injury update as Arsenal suffer worrying blow vs Brentford
Cristian Mosquera was forced off during the first half of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Brentford on Wednesday.
Arsenal signed Mosquera from Valencia in the summer, with the defender looking to be a bargain in his early months at the Emirates Stadium.
The Spaniard has covered for both William Saliba and Gabriel this season, with the pair suffering from several injury issues.
Gabriel is expected to be missing until the end of December, after suffering an injury while on international duty with Brazil.
Saliba has suffered with injury issues for Arsenal this season, with the latest seeing the Frenchman miss games against Chelsea and Brentford.

‘Concern’ over Cristhian Mosquera injury
Mosquera was forced off injured in the first half of Arsenal‘s clash with Brentford, after the defender appeared to land awkwardly.
The Spaniard had started the game well, but winced upon landing after winning a header.
The 21-year-old was replaced by Jurrien Timber, but did walk off the pitch without assistance. Still, the injury blow will be a concern to Mikel Arteta, who is already missing several key defenders.

Saliba is expected to return imminently, and Piero Hincapie has impressed at the back since coming into the team.
Should the former not be ready for Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa, however, Arteta will be forced to deploy either Timber or Ben White, with both players spending the vast majority of their Arsenal careers at right-back.
Reporting live on Wednesday’s game, Ryan Taylor gave an update and wrote: “Cristhian Mosquera forced off with what appears to be an ankle issue.
“Concern is that it was a non-contact injury, seemed to roll it slightly when jumping with Kevin Schade. Jurrien Timber playing RCB, Mosquera straight down tunnel for treatment.”
What games Mosquera could miss after injury blow
Arsenal will play Villa on Saturday, with Mosquera surely set to be missing for that game.
Next Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Club Brugge could also come soon for the Spaniard, depending on the severity of the injury.
The Gunners will host Wolves next week, a game that Mosquera will hope to be fit for.
Arteta will be hesitant to take any risks on the 21-year-old’s involvement in Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures, however, with injuries already stacking up.
