‘Is Klopp crazy?’ ‘League One level’ – Liverpool fans react to Jarell Quansah display after 2-1 win against

Liverpool fans have ripped into young defender Jarell Quansah for his performance during the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds replaced Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday after Harvey Elliott’s late winner at Selhurst Park.

Palace took the lead through a second-half penalty converted by Jean-Philippe Mateta after a penalty decision in the first half of the match was overturned by referee Andy Madley.

Palace’s penalty came via a foul by 20-year-old centre-back Quansah, who was trusted by Jurgen Klopp to fill in for Joel Matip in the heart of defence.

Matip faces months on the sidelines after suffering an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament during the win against Fulham last week.

Quansah was taken off by Klopp just moments after conceding the penalty with Ibrahima Konate coming on in his place.

Mohamed Salah equalised for the visitors with his 200th goal for Liverpool, while Elliott’s late goal secured the win and spared Quansah’s blushes.

Despite the win, Liverpool fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, criticised Quansah and Klopp for his decision to start the young defender.

This supporter believes Quansah’s age has a factor to play.

Many supporters believe Klopp is to blame with the Liverpool manager criticised for trusting Quansah over the likes of Konate or Joe Gomez.

Other Liverpool fans have turned on Quansah, claiming he is not at a Premier League level.
