‘It all comes down to Declan Rice’ – Pundit drops ‘£250m’ Man United hijack claim

Erik ten Hag is “upset” about the Man United takeover process.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton suggested that the slow moving takeover is hampering the Red Devils’ transfer business.

According to The Sun (18 June), Ten Hag is angry that his plans to sign Declan Rice are being foiled by the takeover process.

The United boss’ spending has been restricted whilst current owners the Glazer family decide whether to sell the club.

Earlier this month (4 June), Football Insider revealed that United are in serious contention to sign the West Ham star, even though Arsenal are in pole position for his signature.

Hutton suggested it is not just the takeover that is standing in the way of United’s deal for Rice.

It all comes down to Declan Rice,” he told Football Insider.

If his heart is set on Arsenal, and the suggestions are that he is open to other offer, then of course it is going to be difficult for Man United.

Man United will get back to the top, they have got a manager with a plan moving forward.

I think the takeover will be hampering them a little bit.

He will not really know what he has got to spend, he will know who he wants in the door, what calibre of a player but if you have owners of a football club looking to sell, they are not going to give you £250m to spend, or £150m to spend on Rice.

I think Ten Hag might be upset about it but he will just have to deal with it at this moment in time.
