‘It will cost him his job’ – Rangers fans terrified as Danny Rohl makes ‘troubling’ Youssef Chermiti claim

Rangers fans have been flabbergasted by Danny Rohl’s defence of Youssef Chermiti ahead of the Hearts tie on Sunday.

The striker has struggled for weeks now at Ibrox, last finding the net in the 3-1 victory over Celtic at the start of the year.

As a result, calls for the 21-year-old to be dropped have grown louder, especially with the Gers in the middle of the Scottish Premiership title race.

However, Rohl appears to be determined to stick by his striker through his goal drought, sparking fury among the Rangers fanbase.

Rangers fans fear that Danny Rohl will start Youssef Chermiti vs Hearts

Ahead of the tie against Hearts, Rohl spoke to the media as he looks to pick up a key win in the title race

One of the key topics was Chermiti after the attacker put in another poor display against Motherwell. The striker had a key chance to put the visitors 2-0 up at Fir Park, but fluffed his lines.

When asked about this, Rohl was quick to come to the striker’s defence.

He said: “[With his chance] I want him to take the extra touch and find the corner, but that will come.

“With Celtic he turned the game – he can do this again totally.”

Now, Rangers fans have had enough of Rohl and consistent backing of Chermiti, believing that if this continues, it could eventually cost him his job at Ibrox.

How bad has Chermiti been for Rangers?

According to Fotmob on 13 February, many of Chermiti’s stats have certainly been poor so far this season.

In the Scottish Premiership, per 90 minutes, he is only averaging 0.37 goals, a 0.36 xG, 2.72 shots and 1.40 shots on target.

However, elsewhere, he is providing, completing 1.12 successful dribbles and winning 8.62 duels each match.

Therefore, it is possible to see why Rohl is happy to stick by the striker when is able to make an impact elsewhere.

However, goals are what win games, and with Ryan Naderi now through the door, the new signing needs to be given a run in the team, especially when he has already found the net.

Hopefully, come Sunday, Rohl will make the right decision in order to oversee a victory against Hearts.
