Arsenal fans praised Jurrien Timber’s incredible performance in their 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on 26 November.
Declan Rice was amongst the best performers for Arsenal in their impressive win over the Bavarian giants.
The victory saw the Gunners retain their flawless Champions League record this season which puts them as one of the favourites to win the competition.
Moreover, the result has increased the likelihood of Mikel Arteta extending his stay at Arsenal with players and fans extremely happy with their manager.
One Gunner who has developed exponentially under the Spaniard is Timber, who delighted the supporters at the Emirates with a superb display.
Jurrien Timber quickly becoming ‘one of the best full-backs in the world’ for Arsenal
As he continues to thrive in north London, sources told Football Insider that Arsenal were readying up contract talks for Timber to keep him at the club past June 2028.
The 24-year-old has become a mainstay in the Gunners’ side, ousting Ben White from his starting berth thanks to his remarkable consistency.
Surely, these contract negotiations will be ramped up after his latest showing for the red half of north London in the Champions League.
The ex-Ajax defender opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, getting on the end of a Bukayo Saka cross to flick the ball beyond Manuel Neuer in net.

Later replaced by his main competitor for the right-back berth, Timber undoubtedly is first-choice at Arsenal and is one of the firm fan favourites at the moment.
The Gunners faithful were quick to vocalise their delight with the Netherlands international, with one fan saying: “It still hurts my soul that we had to go a whole season without Jurrien Timber [through injury]. One of the most excellent signings Arsenal has ever made.”
