Ivan Toney reacts to Bryan Mbeumo announcement amid Man United rumours

Bryan Mbeumo, who has been linked with a move away from Brentford, has caught the eye of former team-mate Ivan Toney with his latest announcement.

The winger has scored 18 goals in the Premier League this season, along with picking up seven assists.

Thomas Frank’s side are still in the hunt for European football, sitting 8th in the table with just two matches to go.

If they were able to consolidate their position, then the Bees would ensure that they are in the Europa Conference League next season.

Mbeumo nominated for Player of the Season

Mbeumo has been linked with Manchester United and Newcastle, with both clubs keen to bring the forward in.

There is no surprise that a number of Premier League clubs are looking to prise the winger away from Brentford, as he has 25 goal contributions already this season.

Mbeumo was recognised by being nominated for Player of the Season in the top flight, and Brentford took to Instagram (15 May) to recognise the achievement.

Former team-mate Toney, who now plays his football in Saudi Arabia, liked the post to show his support.

Mbeumo part of the United rebuild

Ruben Amorim is under all sorts of pressure at Man United, and is looking to overhaul his squad in the summer.

United face Tottenham in the Europa League final, with a win granting the Red Devils Champions League football for next season.

The prize of fighting against Europe’s elite has proved too much for both teams, with United’s and Spurs’ league form falling off dramatically.

If Amorim’s side reaches the Champions League, they will be able to attract much higher-quality players, including Mbeumo.

However, as it stands, Brentford are finishing eight places above United, so swapping the Gtech Stadium for Old Trafford might not be the easiest decision.
