Ivan Toney: West Ham stance revealed after Brentford update – sources
West Ham are keeping tabs on the situation of Brentford star Ivan Toney, sources have told Football Insider.
Tim Steidten and the Irons’ recruitment team are working overtime to bring a marquee new forward to the London Stadium this summer.
Toney, 28, is a long-term target for West Ham and it is believed he is likely to move on from Brentford before the deadline in September.
Sources say the Bees are open to offers for the England international, who is currently at the European Championships with the Three Lions.
Football Insider revealed last month (17 June) that Brentford will have to drop their asking price for Toney if he is to seal a summer exit.
The situation is exacerbated by the striker’s contract situation – with his deal set to expire in just 12 months.

Sources told Football Insider (8 July) that West Ham have also submitted a bid for Metz and Georgia star Georges Mikautadze but face stiff competition for his signature.
Toney remains a real option for the Irons and holds the advantage of being a proven Premier League goalscorer.
The 28-year-old returned from a ban for gambling rule breaches in January and managed four goals and two assists across 17 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.

He became hot property following the 2022-23 season after hitting 20 Premier League goals in 33 top-flight appearances.
Julen Lopetegui and the Irons have already wrapped up deals for Max Kilman, Wes Foderingham and Luis Guilherme so far this summer.
