‘I’ve heard a whisper’ Wolves want to lure axed striker from Premier League relegation rivals
Wolves are looking to raid their Premier League relegation rivals in order to address their goalscoring issues.
The Old Gold have scored just seven goals in their 11 top-flight games so far, and are already eight points adrift of 17th-placed Burnley.
Rob Edwards has been announced as the new Wolves manager, but the former Middlesbrough boss has a huge job on his hands to save them from relegation.
The January transfer window will be vital for the Midlands side as they aim to reinforce their underperforming squad.

Wolves challenging Fulham to sign West Ham striker
On Tuesday (11 November), Football Insider revealed that West Ham United will seriously consider offers for Niclas Fullkrug when the transfer window reopens.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Wolves and Fulham could both be in the race to sign him.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness revealed that he’s hearing whispers that the Old Gold are interested in Fullkrug, and want to give him a chance to stay in the Premier League.
Wyness added that the German international is likely to leave West Ham in January, whether that be on loan or permanently.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I heard a whisper the other day that either Wolves or Fulham might be interested in taking Fullkrug.
“I’m hearing Wolves might be one club who are interested in taking him on and giving him a chance to do something and stay in the Premier League.
“Look, I know there’ll be interest for him back in Germany. He did very well there, and players often don’t settle in the Premier League for whatever reason. He hasn’t and there’s been injuries as well. I think he will be gone in January, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays in the Premier League.
“Now whether he goes on loan or not I think that might be one way forward. I think West Ham do need to fill that gap and probably want to get his wages off the books, so I’d be waiting for a move around that sort of area.”
Wolves in talks with ex-player to join Rob Edwards’ coaching staff
Meanwhile, Wolves are in talks to bring in Joleon Lescott as Rob Edwards’ number two, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources say that the hierarchy at the Premier League club want Lescott to come in as part of the former Luton Town manager’s backroom staff.
The 43-year-old has previous experience as a coach in the England senior and under-21 setups.
Lescott came through the Wolves academy, spending six years at the club as a player, and was teammates with Edwards at Molineux.
