Jack Butland posts three-word message to Rangers fans after they destroy him
Jack Butland had a message for Rangers fans after his latest performance, as criticism over his form continues.
Rangers put themselves in a strong position to reach the Europa League quarterfinals with an impressive 3-1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring early before Vaclav Cerny’s brace secured a crucial two-goal advantage heading into the second leg at Ibrox.
Butland delivered a strong display in goal, making several key saves to help his side secure the win—quieting some of his recent critics in the process.
Butland has been under fire from Rangers supporters following his costly mistake against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, with calls for him to be sold after a season filled with errors.
However, after playing a key role in the European win, he had a response for fans as Rangers took a big step towards the next round.
Jack Butland sends a heartfelt message to Rangers fans despite recent criticism
Butland took to Instagram to show his appreciation for the supporters after their crucial win, reposting an image of the fans with the message: “The best about.”

He has been the first-choice goalkeeper for most of the season, making 38 appearances across all competitions and keeping 14 clean sheets. However, some Rangers fans have called for Butland to be dropped in favour of his deputy, Liam Kelly, who impressed during Butland’s injury layoff.
Nevertheless, with the ‘keeper seemingly returning to form and delivering a strong performance in Europe, it is likely that interim manager Barry Ferguson will stick with the former Stoke City goalkeeper for the time being.

Barry Ferguson’s future at Rangers uncertain amid Mourinho and Gerrard speculation
The former club captain’s future at the club as a coach remains unclear as he was brought in until the end of the season with the task of stabilising the team.
Ferguson has already come under pressure at Rangers, with the club buckling to fan pressure when Philippe Clement was sacked.
With Steven Gerrard interested in returning to Rangers, there is also talk of Jose Mourinho replacing Ferguson, according to former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson
Still, with Ferguson still in charge for the time being, and with Butland returning to solid form, it could help both the goalkeeper and Ferguson strengthen their cases to remain at the club for the long-term.
