
Jack Butland sends message to Cyriel Dessers after Rangers fans savage him
Jack Butland had sent a message to his Rangers teammate Cyriel Dessers following their dominant win against Dundee United on Sunday (26 January).
The Gers had to come back from behind after Sam Dalby gave Dundee United the lead in the 19th minute at Tannadice Park.
Goals from Mohamed Diomande, Robin Propper, and Cyriel Dessers gave Philippe Clement’s team the win, pushing the gap between the two teams in the table.
Rangers are now 13 points ahead of Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership while they continue to put pressure on their Old Firm rivals.
Rangers are 10 points adrift of Celtic after 24 matches, but Brendan Rodgers’ side do boast a game in hand.
The Gers will be back in action on Thursday (30 January) against Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League.

Butland came under fire by Rangers fans for his individual performance against Dundee United, with some labelling it “pathetic” and “laughable.”
The goalkeeper still celebrated the result and Dessers’ individual performance by sharing a photo of him on Instagram with the words, “CD9” and two fire emojis.

The goal was Dessers’ eighth of the season in the Scottish Premiership as he continues to be an attacking threat.

The 30-year-old is seen as a “sellable asset” for the Scottish giants in the January transfer window.
