Jack Butland sends message to Rangers fans after devastating injury blow

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland has taken to social media to support his side after missing out on their 3-0 win over Celtic on Thursday (January 2) due to injury.

The 31-year-old released a statement on Instagram confirming he would miss the Old Firm derby after being rushed to hospital with ‘internal bleeding.’

Ianis Hagi opened the scoring with an impressive low drive from outside of the box that left Kasper Schmeichel in the Celtic goal with no chance.

Brendan Rodger’s side through they got the equaliser shortly after half-time, but Kyogo Furuhashi’s lovely finish was ruled out for offside.

Robin Propper finally doubled the home side’s lead just after the hour mark, capitalising on Celtic’s failure to clear their lines from a corner.

Philippe Clement’s side had relentlessly pressed Celtic throughout the game, catching them out and allowing Danilo to round off the scoring in the 81st minute.
