Jack Grealish and Anthony Gordon respond to Dele Alli’s message after horror display

Man City outcast Jack Grealish had a positive message to Dele Alli’s lighthearted take on what was a nightmare debut for his new side Como.

Alli made the move to Italian side Como in the January transfer window, joining the Serie A outfit managed by Cesc Fabregas.

Before sealing his transfer, Alli had teased a potential return to Tottenham, posting an old clip of himself scoring against Everton—his most recent club. However, instead of a Premier League comeback, he opted for a fresh start in Italy.

His debut was delayed due to fitness issues, but he finally took to the pitch against AC Milan on 15 March. Yet, it was a debut to forget, as just nine minutes after coming on, he was shown a red card for a reckless challenge on former Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Despite the disastrous start, the 28-year-old managed to see the funny side, with plenty of former teammates reacting to his post.

Dele Alli receives support from Jack Grealish and Anthony Gordon after red card drama

Alli shared a post on Instagram following his red card, reflecting on the last two years. The English midfielder captioned the post: “2 years! Not necessarily how I planned it, but we keep moving.”

Several players offered their support in the comments, including Grealish, who wrote: “He’s ******* back, my brother man.” Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon also sent his support through emojis.

Loftus-Cheek also liked the post, as Alli shared a screenshot of messages between the two players, laughing about the incident.

Despite his contract with the Toffees ending last summer, Alli continued to train with Everton up until December to maintain his fitness.

While his return to action hasn’t gone as planned, two years without competitive football have undoubtedly been a strain. However, when he returns from suspension, it could offer an opportunity to rejuvenate his career.

Jack Grealish’s future at Man City uncertain amid reduced role

Despite his support for Alli, Grealish posted an update for Manchester City fans following their 2-2 draw with Brighton.

He was an unused substitute in that match, marking the fifth time in seven Premier League games he hasn’t been called from the bench.

With increasing speculation linking Grealish with a potential exit from Man City, and his role in the team becoming less prominent, it remains to be seen if he will follow in Alli’s footsteps and seek a fresh start elsewhere.
