Jack Grealish exit: Man City board ‘acutely aware’ stars may have to go
Jack Grealish is among the star names at Man City that could be on the way out as the club know they have tough decisions coming up, according to a report from The Athletic.
The winger impressed during his side’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night (5 December).
However, that success only brought an end to their recent seven-match winless run, which has already generated serious doubts about whether they can win a fifth consecutive Premier League title.
With a number of players performing below par during that run, it is thought that led to a realisation in the Man City boardroom that decisions over a number of key players may have to be made.
Those on the board are said to be “acutely aware” that tough calls may have to be made over some of the club’s figureheads from recent seasons.
Grealish, along with the likes of Ederson, Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne, is named among those who may therefore be facing an uncertain future at The Etihad.

The 29-year-old still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract, securing his future with the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.
It does make sense that Grealish is among the players who appear to be facing questions over their futures at The Etihad.
The England international has had a tough time of things this season, starting just eight games across all competitions.
Goals and assists have also been hard to come by for him when he has been on the pitch, and so that has no doubt given Man City something to think about.
He is a player whose primary job is to make that impact in attack, but given their own drop in form, they surely have to be ensuring everyone is making the maximum impact.
Grealish is arguably not doing that right now, so moving him on to facilitate further arrivals could be appealing for some of those at Man City.
The question then will be how much can they get for him, and who might be tempted to move for the winger, given his contract situation means the club can still demand a big fee for the 29-year-old.
