The post was met with support from his teammates, with Nathan Ake and Savinho dropping thumbs-up emojis in the comments. Jack Grealish, who was left out of City’s Club World Cup squad, also showed his appreciation by liking the post.
While Ederson remains Guardiola’s number one for now, uncertainty still surrounds his long-term future. Man City supporters have urged the club to sell Ederson after reports emerged that the goalkeeper is open to a move to Saudi Arabia.
No contract extension has been discussed so far, and with the lure of a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League, the 31-year-old is said to be weighing up his next move.
