Jack Grealish responds to ‘amazing’ Tammy Abraham message as Man City exit looms
Jack Grealish will look to emulate Tammy Abraham this summer after his former Aston Villa team-mate found a “new home”.
Pep Guardiola hasn’t openly stated that Grealish is free to leave Man City this summer, but the England star’s career at the Etihad Stadium is all-but over after their season finally came to an anticlimactic end.
Grealish was left out of Man City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in a potential watershed moment for his time under Guardiola’s tenure, and clubs have queued up for the chance to sign him this summer.
Former Man United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Newcastle could explore a deal for Grealish if Man City make him available, but his wage demands could be a stumbling block.
Everton are keen for Man City to contribute to Grealish’s wage packet if the 30-year-old is to make a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer, but they’ve already missed out on one transfer target.

Abraham finds ‘new home’ after Everton interest
Everton’s efforts to sign Grealish may be some way off at present, but their chances of signing former Aston Villa star Abraham have been ended after the Roma striker was loaned to Besiktas for 2025–26.
Abraham was seen as Everton’s ideal replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but the 27-year-old has arrived in Turkey and welcomed his new club’s fans in a blow for both the Toffees and West Ham.
Grealish was Abraham’s captain at Villa Park and was one of several to like his welcome message for the Besiktas fans in Istanbul, which said: “New family, new home, Thank you for the amazing welcome – let’s make magic”.
Premier League switch not guaranteed for Grealish
Football Insider Verdict
Everton, West Ham and a sensational return to Villa Park are all potentially on the cards for Grealish this summer, but all three will struggle to meet his wage demands due to his bumper contract at Man City.
Further afield, Napoli had looked the most likely non-Premier League team to sign Grealish fresh of the back of winning Serie A, but they have recently turned their attention to Man United’s Jadon Sancho.
Saudi Pro League clubs may prove to be the last-chance salloon for Grealish this summer, but with no offers forthcoming as of yet, the previously £100million playmaker finds himself at a career crossroads.
