Jacob Ramsey reacts as Aston Villa departure announced

Jacob Ramsey reacted on social media to the permanent departure of an Aston Villa academy graduate.

The talented winger has endured an uncertain last two seasons at Villa Park after suffering a serious injury.

The 24-year-old looked to be establishing himself as a starter last season, until Marcus Rashford joined Villa on loan.

However, after some impressive performances, the England international has returned to Man United and will not be re-joining the Villains.

This now leaves the club in a position where they will either need to trust in Ramsey to get back to his pre-injury form, or go looking for an alternative in the transfer market.

But Villa have been beset by financial issues in recent months, and their transfer activity may be hindered by a need to be more compliant with both the Premier League and UEFA’s financial regulations.

Kaine Kesler Hayden leaves Aston Villa for Coventry City

Following a spell on loan at Preston North End last season, Kaine Kesler Hayden has left Villa to join Coventry City permanently.

The club shared a message on Instagram following the versatile 22-year-old’s departure, captioned: “Aston Villa can confirm that Kaine Kesler Hayden has joined Coventry City.

“Everyone at Aston Villa would like to thank Kaine for his service to the club and wish him all the best in his future career.”

The post was liked by Ramsey, showing his support for the talented defender.

Football Insider Verdict

There were concerns that Villa may be forced to sell Ramsey to one of Arsenal or Tottenham, due to their PSR issues.

However, following the sale of their women’s team, the Midlands club look to be set to avoid a sanction from the Premier League.

But that does not guarantee that the 24-year-old will still be with his boyhood club come the start of the season.

Ramsey also has interest from West Ham, and if Villa are able to secure a tidy sum of money for the winger, which would be registered on the accounting books as pure profit, the club may be tempted to cash in on the England Under-21 international.

Selling the winger would allow the Villains a lot of manoeuvrability in the transfer market as the club pushes to reclaim their place in the Champions League next season.
