Jaden Philogene undergoing Aston Villa medical , Everton deal agreed – sources
Jaden Philogene is undergoing a medical at Aston Villa today after agreeing terms on a five-year contract with the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old is expected to re-join the Premier League outfit imminently as he puts the finishing touches to the move.
The deal should be sealed as early as Monday for the wide man, who has been the subject of strong interest this summer.
Multiple Premier League teams have pursued Philogene this summer, with Ipswich Town initially having an £18million offer accepted.
Unai Emery’s side had a matching rights option to equal the offer that other teams had made for him.
Villa had retained a buy-back option under conditions when they originally sold Philogene to Hull, and that’s something they have tapped into.
Aston Villa will be bringing Jaden Philogene back to the club
Even though he almost signed for several other Premier League sides this summer, Philogene is now set to confirm his return to Villa Park.
The winger kickstarted his career at Villa and was signed to the academy back in 2018 and thrived in the Under 23s squad.
However, despite making six first-team appearances for the club, Philogene ended up being sold to Hull where he’s kicked on ever since.

The winger scored 12 goals and provided six assists in his 32 games for the Tigers last season, capturing the attention of various other teams through his performances.
Philogene now looks set to swap the Championship for the Champions League for the forthcoming season.
