Jadon Sancho and ‘brilliant’ Man United teammate tipped to explode after Thursday development – pundit

Man United duo Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho will be motivated to have a strong end to the season after failing to make the latest England squad.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the players’ form.

On Thursday (17 March), Rashford, 24, Sancho, 21, were both omitted from the England squad for March’s internationals.

Rashford has struggled to find form this season, scoring five goals in 26 games.

After a slow start to life at Man United, Sancho has found some form scoring in 6 March’s Manchester derby.

Kenny claims omission from the England squad can spur on both players as they look to improve their form.

“They both need a wake-up call to be honest,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Rashford more than Sancho. Sancho has at least picked up a bit after a slow start to the season.

“I think he’s been really good but Rashford has been the big disappointment.

“He’s barely playing and when he does come on he does absolutely nothing.

“Hopefully this tells them they need to perform better, though they should know that.

“They are at Manchester United and they aren’t performing to the level required.

“If they use these two weeks to reset, then they can have a really big end to the season.

“These are brilliant players and they need to show it.”

The Red Devils are next in action against Leicester on 2 April.

They currently sit fifth in the Premier League.
