Jak Alnwick delivers Twitter message after completing Rangers move

By Harvey Byrne

Goalkeeper Jak Alnwick shared that it was a “dream come true” after he completed a move to Scottish giants Rangers on Monday evening.

It was revealed on the club’s official website that the 23-year-old shot stopper had signed from League One side Port Vale for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a deal until 2020.

He has previously played for a big side in Newcastle, while also being capped by England at Under-18 level.

However, he shared on his personal Twitter account on Monday that he had fulfilled his dreams after joining Mark Warburton’s side.

“A dream come true to join Rangers,” wrote Alnwick before sharing that he couldn’t wait to get started.

Alnwick will now look to provide competition for usual Rangers number one Wes Foderingham between the sticks.

He joins with a lot of experience for his age after playing in 78 matches for Port Vale in total, which saw him keep 23 clean sheets.

Rangers’ next match comes against Hearts on Wednesday and it is unlikely that he will feature in that clash.

However, they will face seventh placed Ross County just three days later on Saturday and Warburton could make the decision to give Alnwick his Ibrox bow.

In other Rangers news, James Tavernier made this bold claim about the Gers ahead of Premiership clash.
