James Forrest: Pundit ‘very sure’ on Celtic star potentially quitting after latest
Noel Whelan “would love” to see James Forrest end his career with Celtic despite his injury and form woes.
The former Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 30-year-old is “unplayable” on his day.
Forrest has struggled for minutes this season having started just seven league matches under Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

The Scottish winger, who is out of contract at the end of next season, has netted 96 goals and registered 96 assists for the club since making his debut in 2010.
Forrest has struggled for fitness in recent years, missing 53 games through injury across the past two seasons (as per Transfermarkt).
Whelan insisted the 38-time Scotland international has still got “so much more to offer” at Parkhead.
“There’s always an impact on performance when there are problems with injury,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“That’s just part and parcel of the game, especially when you get to a certain age. He’s not 22 or 23 anymore, so it’ll take a while longer to get over certain injuries.
“But there’s no doubt that he’s still got so much to offer for Celtic. I’ve admired him for a while now after what he’s achieved at the football club.
“If he can stay injury-free then I’m very sure he can get back to that unplayable level we’ve seen in the past.
“I would love to see him stay at Celtic until the end of his career, I think he deserves that and he’s got a lot more to offer to the club – even if his recent career has been a bit stop and start.”

Forrest has netted three goals and registered three assists in 25 Celtic appearances across all competitions this term.
The winger has been displaced by Liel Abada in the Parkhead pecking order.
