James Tarkowski will be first of many Everton signings after source’s update – pundit
James Tarkowski needs to be the first of many arrivals at Everton this summer.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ latest signing.
Football Insider was told by an Everton source on Wednesday (9 June) that Tarkowski, 29, was undergoing a medical that day.

He has been offered a £120,000-a-week contract by Everton and a full agreement is now in place, with an announcement expected soon.
Newcastle and West Ham were among the Burnley star’s suitors this summer.
Kenny insists Tarkowski is an “instant upgrade” to the Everton after their backline failed to impress during the 2021-22 season.
“It’s a great signing,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He has Premier League experience and he’s a good defender. He also hasn’t cost a penny being out of contract.
“I think it’s a brilliant signing. He’s a big, strong lad, an old-fashioned centre-half and I’m sure he will do well there.
“They need defenders after last season, they were nowhere near good enough.
“It’s an instant upgrade and a good start to what needs to be a busy window for Everton.
“They have to sign more players and I think they will. They can’t afford to have another season like the one that has just finished.”

Tarkowski made 35 appearances as Burnley were relegated to the Championship after a poor 2021-22 campaign.
He also picked up 11 yellow cards and missed three games through suspension as a result.
