James Tarkowski ‘will not like this at all’ as David Moyes blasts Everton man
James Tarkowski has been criticised by David Moyes for some “really poor” defending as Everton were thrashed 4-0 by Man United at Old Trafford.
It was a tough afternoon for Sean Dyche’s side against the Red Devils on Sunday (1 December), with the hosts leading 2-0 at half-time, and then adding a third almost immediately after the re-start.
The Toffees’ woes were then compounded when Ruben Amorim’s side made it 4-0 to seal the rout, after Amad Diallo robbed Tarkowski inside his own half.
The winger then teed up Joshua Zirkzee to fire in his second of the game, although Moyes was particularly unimpressed with the Everton centre-back’s role in the build up to that goal, and believes the player himself will feel the same way.
Speaking about Tarkowski’s defending in that incident on Match of the Day 2 (39mins) the former Toffees boss said: “Tarky will not like this at all because it looks really poor. He should deal with this much better. Either he’s got to tackle it or he’s got to pass it out, and it opens it up.”

Football Insider Opinion
This defeat to Man United, making it another game without a win or even a goal, is not going to ease the growing pressure from the Toffees fanbase on manager Sean Dyche.
That could add another layer to these comments from Moyes, given it is understood he could be open to a return to the club if Dyche is sacked.
If he was to return to Everton, he would therefore surely be under no illusions as to the challenge he would be facing at Goodison Park this season.

Were the former West Ham boss to return on Merseyside such criticisms would surely have to be put to the side in a relegation battle such as this one.
In truth, Tarkowski can have no complaints about the criticism given the Everton man should have the experience to know how to deal with that situation, and should not be getting beaten by a smaller player such as Amad in that way either.
Working to prevent a repeat of moments such as this should therefore be a priority for the centre-back and his teammates, regardless of who their manager is.
