James Ward-Prowse will accept ‘massive’ West Ham offer – pundit

James Ward-Prowse would find a move to West Ham hard to turn down.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s future.

According to the Daily Mirror (15 June), David Moyes is keen to bring Ward-Prowse, 27, to West Ham this summer.

West Ham

Southampton have reportedly slapped a £75million price tag on the England international – who scored 10 league goals in the 2021-22 campaign.

The set-piece specialist penned a fresh five-year deal at St Mary’s Stadium last summer (2021).

Kenny claims signing for West Ham would be a “massive upgrade” for Ward-Prowse after Southampton have failed to impress in recent seasons.

“He’s been there is he was a kid, hasn’t he?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Sometimes you need a freshen up. Maybe he needs a freshen-up now. Southampton. you never know what you are going to get from them.

“They could get beat 9-0 then go and win against a big club the next week, you don’t really see that at other clubs.

“The manager has also looked like he would go a few times.

“I just feel it would be a massive upgrade, going to West Ham. I think he would find it hard to turn down.”

West Ham

Ward-Prowse has made 364 total appearances for the Saints since he made his debut in October 2011.

He has scored 44 goals for the club.
