Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to Liverpool? ‘He will join top Premier League club’

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could be signed as a potential long-term Mohamed Salah replacement at Liverpool.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that he’s a “really good young player.”

The 20-year-old has been likened to Jadon Sancho from his time at Borussia Dortmund, which has led to him being linked with a major Premier League move in the future.

Similarly to the Chelsea winger, Bynoe-Gittens left the Man City academy to gain first-team football at Dortmund.

The winger has gone on to make 67 appearances for the Bundesliga giants since then, capturing the attention of the footballing world in the process.

Liverpool could be in the market for a winger next summer if Salah doesn’t sign a new contract, as his current deal expires after this season.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that the Egypt international is holding out for a mega-money three-year contract but does have interest from the Saudi Pro League.

The Reds will face competition in trying to sign the young winger as Football Insider reported that Tottenham are closely watching him with a potential deal in mind.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is expected to return to the Premier League, but will it be Liverpool?

“He’s a top player, but he’s raw,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“[He’s a] really good young player in a similar way that Jadon Sancho was, but he’s at a club in Dortmund where he can develop and he’ll play and he’ll get game time.

“Gittens for me, is not an immediate replacement.

“If you’re going to take Mo Salah out of Liverpool, it’s the equivalent of Jürgen Klopp or [Virgil] Van Dijk leaving Liverpool.

“We know that the holes that those types of people leave.

Liverpool

“Jamie Gittens is a good player, an England Under-21 international, I’ve got no doubt at some point he will return to the Premier League.

“But from a player’s point of view, from his own point of view, for his development, he’s better staying at a club like Dortmund where he’s going to get an opportunity a lot quicker and then come back to the Premier League as Sancho did, as Jude Bellingham did, as Erling Haaland has done.”
