Jamie Donley in line for Tottenham promotion after ‘amazing’ development – expert

Tottenham starlet Jamie Donley may travel to South Korea for the club’s first pre-season fixtures.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As per photos shared by the Lilywhite Rose Twitter account, Donley, 17, has been training with the first team during the first week of pre-season.

The striker scored 18 goals in 16 Premier League Under 18 games during the 2021-22 season as well as providing six assists.

He signed his first professional deal in January after signing as a full-time scholar in the summer of 2021.

Wenham was delighted to see Donley involved in first-team matters.

“Yeah, amazing, I was really pleased to see Jamie there,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I get the part of the conversation that says Kane, Sonny and Kilusevski are still away after their international games.

“Richarlison hasn’t arrived yet and Bergwijn has gone. Maybe we are a bit short of attacking players.

“Moura, Gil and Etete are all still there. I was really pleased to see Jamie in there. It shows how highly Tottenham value him.

“I am hoping he can get on that flight to South Korea now. I appreciate the fans over there want to see Kane and Son but neither of them have done any pre-season.

“So we need other attacking options over there.”

On 6 October, The Guardian named Donley as Tottenham’s best first-year scholar in their annual list of top young talents.

Donley has not yet made his mind up over his international allegiance and currently alternates between England and Northern Ireland.
