Jarell Quansah sends ‘big’ message away from Liverpool as Anfield exit looms

Liverpool have already spent big in this summer’s transfer window but Jarell Quansah is one player who could be on his way out.

Arne Slot and Liverpool have taken a much more aggressive approach to the transfer market than they did 12 months ago, with the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong already confirmed.

Liverpool are also on the brink of breaking the British transfer record for Frimpong’s former team-mate Florian Wirtz, while Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez also looks set to be on his way to Merseyside.

Fenway Sports Group are unlikely to shell out fees of over £100million without Liverpool raising funds from their own player sales though, and Quansah is one of several who could leave Anfield this summer.

Quansah has attracted attention from both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest as well as Leverkusen as he weighs up his future, and any sale of the 22-year-old would be a guaranteed PSR profit for the Reds.

Quansah sends ‘big’ message after England developments

Football Insider revealed back in April that even Liverpool’s arch-rivals Everton could launch a bid for Quansah this summer, but the defender’s full focus at the moment will be on international duty.

Quansah is part of England‘s Under-21 squad midway through the group stage of the 2025 UEFA Under-21 Championship in Slovenia, with Lee Carsley’s side currently sat second after a win and a draw apiece.

The Young Lions were held to a 0-0 draw by Slovenia on Sunday ahead of their clash with group leaders Germany on 18 June, and have a chance to finish top of the Group B table ahead of their historic rivals.

Looking ahead to Wednesday’s match, Quansah posted on his Instagram story (15 June) with the message of: “Clean sheet and a point. Now onto Wednesday’s big match!”

Quansah’s Liverpool days could be numbered

The levels of interest in Quansah so far this summer, and his status as a home-grown academy player capable of generating a 100 per cent PSR profit, makes a transfer look increasingly likely for Liverpool.

Football Insider revealed last month that Liverpool also have their eye on RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba this summer, and any incoming centre-back will only push Quansah further down the pecking order.

It’s unclear where Quansah will end up if he does leave Anfield, but as Slot takes a sledgehammer to his title-winning side to bring in reinforcements, he’s one of several seemingly destined for the exit door.
