Jarrell Quansah and Liverpool teammate backed to seal loan exit after Friday development – pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed Liverpool youngsters Luke Chambers and Jarell Quansah should leave the club on loan this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League defender said that pre-season is the perfect time for the teenagers to prove themselves to Jurgen Klopp.

Chambers, 17, and Quansah, 19, featured as England beat Israel to win the under-19 European Championship on Friday.

Quansah scored the winner against Italy in the semi-finals to help the young Lions on their way to the trophy.

The centre-half is yet to make his debut for Liverpool, as is left-back Chambers.

When asked by Football Insider if it was time for players like Quansah and Chambers to go on loan, Hutton said: “I think when you start talking about 18, 19, 20, you have to play football.

You have to go out and develop. There’s no point staying at a team where you’re not going to be involved.

The flip side to that is, preseason is a great time for youngsters at every club, not just Liverpool, every team.

You go away with the team, you get an opportunity to catch the eye of manager. He knows you’re a decent player because you wouldn’t be there if you weren’t. But this is a chance to play games with the first team, be surrounded in that environment and if you can catch his eye then you will be in the squad, he’ll want to keep you around to learn and develop.

“If that doesn’t quite work out at 18, 19, you have to go out and play football. That’s when you go to the Championship, League 1, you get roughed up, you play week by week and that’s where you develop as a player.

“So I think that’s the situation that all boys at that age will be in at this moment in time.”
