Jarrod Bowen breaks silence after devastating West Ham news confirmed

Jarrod Bowen has broken his silence after West Ham United confirmed that he sustained a fractured foot injury during their recent thrashing by Liverpool.

The Hammers were demolished 5-0 on Sunday (29 December) by Arne Slot’s men, and things have now gone from bad to worse for the team.

The club revealed that Bowen injured his left foot in the first half of the game, but the club captain managed to continue until the 60th minute when Julen Lopetegui replaced him.

West Ham announced that Bowen is set to be out of action heading into the New Year, with the Hammers next in action on Saturday (4 January) against Man City.

However, it’s currently unclear exactly how long Bowen is going to be out of action for in what is set to be a busy month for the Londoners.

Bowen has released a personal statement on Instagram, stating, “Unfortunately in the first half of our game on Sunday I suffered a fracture to a bone in my foot. As always I tried to fight on & continue playing until I physically couldn’t. Injuries happen in football but I’m already looking forward to getting back out there as soon as possible. See you all soon!”

Jarrod Bown will be a significant miss for West Ham

Bowen’s injury will be a significant blow for Lopetegui’s side due to the key impact he’s made on the attacking output of the team this season.

The England international has started every Premier League match this season and has only failed to complete a full 90 minutes on three occasions.

The injury is going to force a change to the starting lineup for Lopetegui for at least a few matches, providing a chance for another member of the squad.

The versatile forward has scored six goals and provided four assists in all competitions this season.

The Irons are currently 13th in the Premier League table after a mixed first half of the season.
