Jarrod Bowen ‘under pressure’ at West Ham after confirmed news – pundit
Jarrod Bowen is “under pressure” at West Ham after his slow start to the season, according to Noel Whelan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker claimed Bowen could lose his place in the England squad to Jadon Sancho or Marcus Rashford if he does not refind his form.
The 25-year-old has not scored in the Premier League this season but was still selected ahead of Sancho and Rashford for the recent England squad.
However, he did not play a minute of football in the international break and was left out of the matchday squad for England’s 3-3 draw with Germany on Monday night (26 September).
Sancho has three goals across all competition this term but has only played once for England since the European Championships.
Meanwhile, the Premier League announced on Friday (30 September) that Rashford had been named player of the month for September after he registered four goal contributions in the month.
“There are a lot of people that have upped their game over the last two seasons,” Whelan told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kignsbury.
“West Ham have been very successful and he’s been a massive part of that success in winning football matches.
“It’s been a slow start for West Ham this year and most of their players.
“Jarrod Bowen will be seeing Rashford scoring, Sancho scoring and will want to be getting into that form he had for the last couple of seasons.

“If you’re not in form, then you place in the squad is up for grabs for someone else. Rashford has been in the squad many, many times and Sancho has been in the squad many, many times.
“He is under pressure, there’s no doubt about it. He’s a very talented player but he hasn’t got his Premier League game going yet.”
In other news, David Moyes could axe an untouchable to save his West Ham job.
