Jason Cundy concerned by what he’s seen from Liverpool in major Chelsea prediction
Jason Cundy has ranked Chelsea’s chances of beating Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title this season.
Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 to rise to second in the Premier League table, with only the Reds above them after three matches, and Enzo Maresca well and truly winning the love of the fans.
Of course, Joshua King had a goal wrongly disallowed at Stamford Bridge, which potentially affected the outcome of the game, but the home fans are not complaining after the mistake went in their favour.
With Brentford up next, and Liverpool taking on Burnley at Turf Moor, while it is unlikely, the Blues have a chance to move to the top of the Premier League table as the title race opens up.
After lifting the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup titles in recent months, a debate has started over whether the West London side can join the battle for the Premier League trophy.

Chelsea are unlikely to pip Liverpool to the Premier League title
Speaking about the debate, Cundy argued that the most concerning thing about Liverpool so far this season is that they have not played at their best and are still sitting top of the table.
“The truth is, we [Chelsea] haven’t played well and we’re in second position with seven points. I haven’t seen anyone yet that I’m worried about,” Cundy said on talkSPORT (12 September).
“Liverpool haven’t played well, and they’re on nine points. That’s more concerning with Liverpool because they’ve got the pedigree. There’s not enough evidence yet to suggest that we’re the team to beat Liverpool.
“You have to go with Liverpool [to win the Premier League]. I said Arsenal at the beginning of the season, and Liverpool haven’t played well. They could be sitting on three points, but they’re not.”
Who has lifted the Premier League title since Chelsea last won it?
The last time that the Blues won the Premier League was back in 2016-17, when Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante, and Thibaut Courtois were all starring at Stamford Bridge.
It has been a difficult few years for the West London side, but with Todd Boehly taking the reins and pumping a lot of cash into the club, supporters are the happiest that their rivals have seen in a long time.
Although Pep Guardiola is currently facing pressure at Man City, the Citizens have won the title six times since then, with the Reds claiming it twice, once under Jurgen Klopp, and once under Slot last term.
Chelsea have a huge uphill battle to face if they are to finish at the top of the rankings this season, but if the start to the season is anything to go by, Maresca could certainly deliver some hope.
