‘Jayden Danns likely to make new Liverpool move after Sunderland collapse’

Liverpool striker Jayden Danns looks as though he will be on the move again in this summer’s transfer window.

It has been a frustrating second half of the season for the 19-year-old after a disappointing end to the winter transfer market.

The striker had burst onto the scene with some eye-catching performances in the cup competitions for the Reds last season, leading to interest from elsewhere.

Football Insider reported that Championship duo Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland were keen to sign Danns late in this year’s winter window.

Although it was the Black Cats who won the race to sign the teenager on loan, that deal failed to work out for anyone involved.

After the deal had been announced, Danns returned to Liverpool for treatment on an injury identified in his medical at Sunderland.

In the end though, that prevented him from making a single appearance for the Black Cats, meaning new plans are now being made for the striker.

According to an update from The Mail, the teenager is a regular at the Liverpool training ground as he continues to work hard on his recovery.

He is expected to feature for Arne Slot‘s side on their pre-season tour of Asia later this summer, but despite that a loan exit in the transfer window for next season is still said to be “likely”.

Liverpool plan for transfer exit makes sense

Football Insider Verdict

Liverpool look as though they will need a new striker with Darwin Nunez expected to leave during the transfer window.

But with Danns having still only made a handful of senior appearances, it is far too early for him to take on that role with the Premier League champions.

A loan move that allows him to get some much-needed experience under his belt to put him closer to that required level is therefore the right move.

Indeed, in securing such a deal Liverpool will be ensuring that Danns catches up on the opportunities he has missed out on with the collapse of his Sunderland loan.

Given the promise he has previously shown in a Reds shirt, he will surely not be short of potential suitors once the market does open.

With that in mind, the young striker is one player who could be well worth keeping an eye out for over the course of this summer.
