Jebbison told to snub Everton offer and stay at Sheffield United – Robinson

Paul Robinson has urged Daniel Jebbison to reject a potential move to Everton and stay with Sheffield United.

The former Leeds goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted remaining in the Championship would be beneficial for the 18-year-old.

The Liverpool Echo reported on Monday (August 23rd) Everton are keen to sign Jebbison before the transfer deadline.

The Canada-born striker scored his first senior goal against Everton in the Premier League last season.

He has made two League Cup appearances this season.

The Liverpool Echo claim that Toffees boss Rafa Benitez believes he can improve Jebbison after studying the youngster.

But Robinson claimed the 18-year-old would develop further by staying at Bramall Lane.

“It’d be a top signing if they [Everton] could get him – I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen from him,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“But would moving to Everton be beneficial for him? He’d be sat on the bench for most of the season behind [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin.

“He will get some games in the cup. But at his age and this stage of his career, he is better off at Sheffield United.

“He should move when he has developed more and has a first-team place ready for him.”

Jebbison, an England under-18 international, has a contract at Sheffield United until 2023.

Everton’s senior striking options include Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Moise Kean and Cenk Tosun.
