Joe Hart sent warning by pundit as controversial Celtic footage analysed
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic shot-stopper Joe Hart will need to “be careful” when VAR is introduced to Scottish football.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider the former Rangers defender said players “run the risk” of being punished for off the ball incidents once new technology is rolled out.
Celtic beat Ross County 3-1 on Saturday (6 August).
As relayed on Twitter (6 August), Hart pushed over County midfielder Jordan Tillson when trying to start a counter-attack in the second half of the game at Victoria Park.
Tillson went down clutching his head but the goalkeeper escaped punishment.
According to The Sun (20 July), clubs in Scotland have been told to speed up the introduction of VAR “a few weeks” ahead of schedule.
The technology was set to be introduced to the Scottish top flight after the World Cup in Qatar but the Scottish Football Association is said to be keen to fast track the process.
When asked for his assessment of the footage, Hutton told Football Insider: “There’s always going to be aggression in football but you have to be very careful.

“As soon as you lift your arms, while in the middle of a game of football, if the referee sees it you can be called back for it.
“Soon enough VAR is going to be coming into play, so things will be getting checked. I think a lot of it is nonsense but players will be running the risk. As soon as you raise your arms you’re asking the ref to make a decision. So in the future I think he’ll need to be careful.“
