Joe Rodon is Leeds United ‘number one priority’ – sources

Leeds United will prioritise the permanent signing of Joe Rodon if they are promoted, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke claimed that the Whites have the option to make such a deal.

The 25-year-old, who has made 41 appearances this season, is currently on loan at Leeds from Premier League club Tottenham.

The central defender has previously spent loan spells at Cheltenham Town in League Two and Rennes in Ligue 1.

O’Rourke has explained that the Whites will also be eager to land other loan stars should they clinch promotion this season, with the likes of Connor Roberts and Jaidon Anthony also at Elland Road on temporary deals.

Sources told Football Insider (31 March) that Tottenham are prepared to let Rodon join Leeds on a permanent deal this summer.

“I think the priority for Leeds will be to secure some of those loan signings, Joe Rodon being the number one priority, to make that deal permanent, if they do go up,” he told the Inside Track podcast.
