Joel Piroe sends message to Leeds fans after Mateo Joseph twist

Leeds United striker Joel Piroe has sent a message to fans after his performance in their 3-0 Championship win over Luton Town on Wednesday (November 27).

The 25-year-old scores Leeds’ second goal just before half-time as Daniel Farke’s side went to the top of the Championship table.

Sam Byram and Daniel James bagged the other two goals at Elland Road to earn a comfortable win in the race for the title and promotion back to the Premier League.

Level on points with fellow Yorkshire side Sheffield United, Leeds sit at the summit by virtue of a better goal difference with 19 compared to their 15.

The Dutchman is Leeds’ top league goalscorer with seven goals and two assists in just nine starts so far this season.

Eight of those starts have come in Leeds’ last ten games, with Farke finally settling on a number nine with Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford relegated to the bench.

Some fans disagree, however, suggesting that youngster Joseph should be given another chance due to his form for Spain’s Under-21s.

So long as he’s scoring, neither Farke nor Piroe will care, with the striker taking to Instagram to celebrate another fine performance.

The Championship is relentless, especially over the festive period, as United face Blackburn just three days after their win over Luton on Saturday (November 30).

Farke’s side have six games throughout December in what could prove to be a pivotal run for their ultimate mission to secure promotion.
