John Terry responds to Reece James’ message after Chelsea demolish PSG
Reece James was in high spirits after Chelsea sealed the Club World Cup title in dominant fashion.
Chelsea and Enzo Maresca added more silverware to their collection with a commanding 3-0 win over Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Despite PSG entering the match as favourites, it was Cole Palmer who stole the spotlight for Chelsea. The playmaker scored twice inside the opening half-hour, leaving the French side stunned.
Palmer wasn’t finished there as just minutes after his second, he slipped a perfectly weighted through ball to new signing Joao Pedro, who calmly slotted it past Gianluigi Donnarumma to make it 3-0.
Maresca’s side saw out the second half with composure, managing the game and keeping PSG at bay to secure a memorable victory.
Club captain James shared his delight after the final and posted scenes from the celebrations with fans online, marking a high point in what’s been a promising end to the season.
Chelsea crowned Club World Cup champions after dominant PSG win
James shared his excitement on Instagram with a series of trophy-ramp photos showing him lifting the newly revamped Club World Cup trophy.
He reposted the images on his story with the caption: “Club World Cup CHAMPIONS!”
Many of his teammates responded to their captain, with Tosin Adarabioyo replying “Champ” while Pedro Neto offered a passionate response, saying: “We continue Reece James let’s f****** go.”
Other players showed their appreciation by liking the post, including Moises Caicedo, Chelsea legend John Terry, and Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo.
James started the final in midfield, with Malo Gusto preferred at right-back, but the positional switch didn’t stop him from delivering a commanding performance.
Maresca has faced criticism in the past for deploying James in midfield and away from his natural role, but the tactical tweak now appears to be paying off.
The season ends on a remarkable high for the Blues. Not only did Chelsea lift the UEFA Conference League and secure Champions League qualification, but they’ve now added the Club World Cup to their growing trophy cabinet.

Chelsea secure £88m payday after Club World Cup triumph
Football Insider revealed that Chelsea had already secured £80million by reaching the final of the summer tournament.
Following their victory over Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea will now receive a total of £88m as Club World Cup champions.
Manchester City were the only other Premier League club involved and would have received a larger payout due to their superior FIFA ranking—had they reached the final—but it’s Chelsea who walk away with both the title and the financial reward.
