Jordan Pickford: Everton set new price demand after deal recently signed – sources

Everton will demand between £30-40million for goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Pickford, 30, could be among the key stars at Goodison Park who could be sold.

It is believed the Toffees value the England international at up to £40million – £10million more than his reported £30million fee from Sunderland back in June 2017.

However, well-placed sources have also told Football Insider that Sean Dyche’s side could sanction his departure for less than their new valuation if they become under pressure to sell.

Everton slap £40million price tag on Jordan Pickford

The club recently announced £89.1million of losses from last season following their six-point deduction for a single profit and sustainability charge.

They also have another pending charge relating to their 2022-23 accounts, with the verdict set to be revealed on Monday (8 April).

Everton are expected to sanction key player sales this summer to avoid another sanction and departures will need to be confirmed by 30 June so profits register on their accounts for 2023-24.

If they need to sanction sales before July to balance the books, they could be forced to let Pickford go on a cut-price deal.

Pickford penned a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the Toffees in February last year, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Since his move to Goodison Park, he has been the club’s undisputed number-one having made 272 appearances in all competitions.
