Jordan Pickford reacts as brutal dig aimed at Aston Villa after Everton win at Villa Park

Thierno Barry has trolled Aston Villa on Instagram after he scored the winner in Everton’s 1-0 win at Villa Park on Sunday.

Barry looks to be coming into his own at Everton now after initially struggling to make an impact at following his £27million move from Villarreal in the summer window.

David Moyes backed Barry to find his feet after a tough start on Merseyside, and his persistence has paid off with some strong performances in recent weeks.

He had netted two goals in his previous three Premier League appearances before the Toffees travelled to face high-flying Villa in the Second City on Sunday afternoon.

Barry scored the winning goal with a well-taken chip over Emi Martinez in the 59th minute, and has reacted to the strike and victory in a way that could rile up some Villa supporters.

Barry makes stadium name jibe on Instagram after goal vs Villa

Barry trolled Nottingham Forest last month after netting in a 2-0 away win, as he took to Instagram with a post of his celebrations alongside a caption saying: “I love playing against them.”

He is clearly beginning to get used to life in the Premier League, with his cool finish on Sunday taken with all the confidence of a seasoned striker.

The Frenchman was at it again with the trolling on Instagram following his latest goal, with the location on his new post set to ‘Barry Park’, rather than Villa Park.

He captioned his post to say: “I don’t need a description,” with the likes of Jordan Pickford, James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil leaving likes, while Adam Aznou replied: “Ooooooo Thieeernoo Baaarrryyyy.”

Which strikers have Everton been touted to sign as competition for Barry?

Everton are looking to bolster their forward line this month despite Barry’s form, with Beto potentially set to leave the club after a tough last few months in front of goal.

Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has been linked to Everton in recent weeks, but a move looks unlikely as the Molineux club demand around £40million for his services.

Everton have enquired about Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri amid his fine Super Lig form, and he currently seems the most likely arrival if they do bring a new forward in.

They could also troll Villa once more, with Tammy Abraham on Everton’s radar despite widespread reports that he is set to move back to the Second City soon.
