Jorgen Strand Larsen deal ‘one to watch’ after source’s Nottingham Forest reveal

The possibility of Jorgen Strand Larsen leaving Wolves is “one to watch” until the end of the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Wolves have placed a pricetag of £40million on the striker, who is tied down to a long-term deal at Molineux, but they remain aware that they will not receive close to that sum if they are relegated.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that Nottingham Forest have made contact for Strand Larsen and are plotting to test Wolves’ resolve with an offer.

Rob Edwards and Co. have no desire to lose the 25-year-old during the mid-season window, but there is an acceptance that Forest could force them into selling if a suitable offer were to come in.

Wolves set to face Jorgen Strand Larsen value drop

Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League is almost seen as an inevitability at this stage of the season, given that they already find themselves 14 points adrift of safety.

The Black Country outfit have still only won one Premier League game all season, and as a result, they are rooted to the foot of the table, with little sign of an escape.

They appear destined to return to the Championship for the first time since 2017-18, and that could change Strand Larsen’s situation drastically.

The frontman would undoubtedly have designs on securing a move back to the Premier League in the summer, but relegation would see a significant reduction in Wolves’ bargaining power when it came to a potential fee.

Relegation from the top flight can often bring a huge financial change at a club as they fall into the second tier, and Wolves will certainly be contemplating that when it comes to dealing with their star this winter.

Wolves to face similar situation with David Moller Wolfe and Joao Gomes

Football Insider revealed in December that Aston Villa have their eyes on David Moller Wolfe this winter, while there is also interest in the left-back from Brighton.

The vultures are beginning to circle around some of Wolves’ stronger performers, with Joao Gomes having also been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

The growing interest looks set to hand Wolves a similar dilemma with that duo, who could both potentially dig in their heels and force an exit if they were to go down.

As a result, it looks set to be a potential pivotal window for the long-term future of the bottom club, even if their fate is effectively already sealed.
