Joshua Zirkzee sends message to Man United fans are brutal treatment
Man United striker Joshua Zirkzee has taken to social media to celebrate their 5-3 penalty win over Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday (January 13).
The 23-year-old scored the pivotal penalty as Man United got one over their old rivals and progressed to the fourth round.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with a lovely curling effort from an impressive Alejandro Garnacho run.
Ruben Amorim’s side were reduced to ten minutes shortly after, with Diogo Dalot receiving a second yellow card due to a rash challenge on Mikel Merino.
Gabriel bagged the equaliser just two minutes after Dalot’s red card, scoring on the half-volley after both Altay Bayindir and Kobbie Mainoo failed to deal with Gabriel Martinelli’s cross.
Mikel Arteta’s side were awarded a soft penalty after Harry Maguire was deemed to have brought down Kai Havertz, but Martin Odegaard’s tame effort was easily saved by Bayindir.
Maguire was visibly angered by Havertz’s apparent dive, with television replays capturing the United defender shouting, “You cheating s**thouse,” at the Arsenal forward.
Bayindir stepped up to save Martin Odegaard’s tame effort, keeping the score at 1-1 and sending the game into extra-time.
Extra time came and went, and the game went to penalties, ending 3-5 to Man United, with Zirkzee scoring the winning penalty, sending David Raya the wrong way and his side to the fourth round.

The striker was booed off by his own fans in their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle earlier in the season, having been brought off just after 30 minutes by Amorim.
Zirkzee has struggled since joining in the summer, starting 11 of his 29 games across all competitions, scoring four goals, and providing two assists in his 1105 minutes of action.
Clearly delighted with his side’s win and the opportunity to redeem himself, Zirkzee took to Instagram to celebrate the win, saying: “And it is God!”

Ruben Amorim’s side will face former interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
United’s attention will return to the Premier League on Thursday (January 16) as they seek to end their four-game winless streak against Southampton.
