Jude Bellingham and James Maddison react to Ebere Eze message as Arsenal interest grows

Crystal Palace player Eberechi Eze has posted a message which has been liked by two England stars as speculation continues to grow over the midfielder’s future.

Arsenal are one the club’s interested in making a move for the 27-year-old, who has a £68million release clause in his contract, as exclusively revealed by Football Insider.

North London rivals Tottenham are prepared to battle the Gunners for his signature as they also require an attacker this summer.

Eze has impressed at Palace since his move to Selhurst Park from QPR in 2020, scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final last season as the club won their first ever major trophy.

Eze snaps liked by England duo

Taking to Instagram (1 June) Eze posted multiple pictures of what he has been up to on his post-season break.

The post was captioned: “Praise Jesus,” and a partying face emoji, suggesting he is enjoying his time off away from transfer matters.

Tottenham midfielder James Maddison and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham both liked the post.

Eze, capped 12 times by England, has played with Maddison and Bellingham on international duty, and will be competing with the duo for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad next summer.

Arteta should beat Spurs to Eze signing

Football Insider verdict

Arsenal are in the market for forwards this summer, and Eze is on their list of targets as they look to beat Spurs to the signing.

Eze could provide competition for Martinelli on the left wing and Odegaard in central areas, and deputise for the Arsenal captain when he is not availiable.

Manager Mikel Arteta requires more tactical flexibility in his squad and Eze could provide that.

Eze’s Premier League stats

One of the most technically gifted players in the Premier League, Eze would fit straight into Arsenal’s starting line-up.

The Gunners are still keen on other options like Real Madrid’s Rodrygo should they choose not to make a move for Eze.

However, with a striker a priority this summer, Arteta needs to ensure he can afford either Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko.

Missing out on either of those players would be a greater blow to Arteta, as a ruthless finisher is all that lies between Arsenal and major trophies.
