Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford react to Harry Kane’s announcement

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has caught the attention of England teammates Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford with his latest announcement message.

Kane secured his first-ever piece of major silverware last season, as Bayern won the Bundesliga, beating Bayer Leverkusen to top spot by 13 points.

The 31-year-old fired Vincent Kompany’s side to the title, clinching the league’s golden boot as a result of scoring 26 goals in 31 appearances.

During his two campaigns in Germany, the England international has picked up 79 goal contributions in the league, proving he is still very much among the elite strikers in world football.

Kane makes ‘historic’ England appearance

Kane scored the only goal on Saturday (7 June) afternoon, as England limped to a 1-0 win over Andorra in the third game of their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Thomas Tuchel’s side made hard work of the clash against a side ranked 174th in the world, but the Three Lions captain’s second-half strike ensured that they weren’t subjected to an embarrassing draw.

The game at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona was Kane’s 106th appearance in England colours, which promoted him to seventh on the all-time caps list, level with Frank Lampard and Sir Bobby Charlton.

To commemorate the achievement, the official England account collaborated with the striker on Instagram to post a photo of the appearances list, with the caption: “Only six players in history have made more #ThreeLions appearances than @HarryKane.”

Real Madrid midfielder Bellingham liked the post to congratulate his international teammate, as did Rashford, who is set for a Manchester United exit this summer.

Tuchel’s tournament style will frustrate England fans

Football Insider Verdict

England’s performance against Andorra was about as uninspiring as it gets, with a Three Lions team filled with multi-million pound stars only able to find the net once against players that most of the population will have never heard of.

However, Tuchel was not brought in by the FA to excite supporters and set his side up to score seven goals against inferior opposition.

The German’s job is to target games in the latter stages of the World Cup in 2026, and ensure that when the Three Lions face the likes of France and Spain, they have the tools to compete and beat the best footballing nations in the world.

Noni Madueke, who could be sold by Chelsea this summer, was one of the shining lights against Andorra, and Tuchel will need to assess as many potential options as possible before his side travel to North America in 12 months time.

The qualifying process for major tournaments has always been drab, but if England produce World Cup success next year, no one will remember the one-goal wins against the likes of Andorra.
