Jude Bellingham could revolt at Dortmund amid new ‘£90m’ Liverpool bid claim – pundit

Noel Whelan has claimed Liverpool should only pay £90million for Jude Bellingham with Borussia Dortmund currently demanding an “unrealistic” fee.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 19-year-old could end up “miffed” at his current club if they “price him out” of a move to the Premier League.

According to The Athletic (21 September), the German side are adamant that they want to receive €150million (£132million) for Bellingham if he pushes for an exit next summer.

Liverpool

It is reported that Dortmund are not resigned to losing the England international at the end of the season and no release clause is active in his current contract.

The report claims that Man United, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Real Madrid all have a “strong interest” in the midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp’s side broke their transfer record in the summer window to bring in Darwin Nunez for a reported £85million.

When asked if Liverpool could break their record again to meet Dortmund’s Bellingham price tag, Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I’d be staying away from that – it’s unrealistic.

“No matter how good he is as a player – and he is – he’s fantastic. If you’re saying it’s £130million or nothing, then I’d walk away.

“I’d look elsewhere. When you look at the price of Haaland – even if he had a release clause.

“They’ll price Bellingham out of a move, and he could end up pretty miffed at Dortmund for doing that.

“Around £90m – absolutely. I think he deserves that price tag.”

Liverpool

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (24 September) that Liverpool are plotting a move for Brighton star Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuador international could be an alternative for Bellingham.
