Jude Bellingham reacts to Dean Huijsen’s poignant Real Madrid message
It has already been confirmed that Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is joining Real Madrid, and his new teammate Jude Bellingham is clearly looking forward to playing with him.
Huijsen is making the move to Madrid after just one year on the south coast, impressing in his maiden Premier League campaign.
The Spaniard made his last appearance for the Cherries against Leicester, with Andoni Iraola’s side beating the Foxes 2-0 on the final day.
It has been a record-breaking season for Bournemouth, who recorded a new highest-ever points total of 56, on the way to finishing 9th.
Position | Team | Games | Points |
8 | Brighton | 38 | 61 |
9 | Bournemouth | 38 | 56 |
10 | Brentford | 38 | 56 |

Huijsen departs Bournemouth
Real Madrid triggered a £50million release clause to secure the services of Huijsen, with Bournemouth making a big profit on the young centre back.
The Cherries bought the Spain Under-21 international from Juventus last summer, paying just £12.6m for the defender.
For the player, it is a dream move, and Huijsen took to social media to show just how much the switch to Los Blancos means to him.
On Instagram, the 20-year-old posted a photo of himself sitting in a Real Madrid shirt back when he was a young boy, with the caption: “We’re going home.”
Bellingham will link up with Huijsen once the defender completes his move to Spain, and the England international liked the post to support his new teammate.
Bournemouth continue to make profit
Football Insider Verdict
Bournemouth are starting to make a habit of buying players at a cut price, and selling them for a big profit after a season or two of good performances.
There are likely to be more departures this summer, as Milos Kerkez is linked with a move to Liverpool, after the full-back started every single game for the Cherries this season.
The south coast side spent around £15m on the Hungarian back in 2023, and would likely get three times that figure from Arne Slot’s side.
There is yet another example of this, as Antoine Semenyo has gathered interest from Newcastle and Man United, after scoring 11 Premier League goals in 2024/25.
Semenyo cost Bournemouth under £10m from Bristol City two years ago, with the Cherries unlikely to let the winger go for less than £50m.
